چکیده

data as a potential marker of the degree of high-altitude acclimatization could be somewhat indicative of PHT for a specific altitude and physical exercise in the normal subject monitored. These parameters may also be useful in climbers with more exacerbated hemodynamic changes which could ultimately manifest as HAPE. We found no references in the literature of wireless phonocardiographic transmission in high-altitude mountain climbing. We firmly believe that further advances in the filtering system used for heart sounds, particularly those associated with cardiac auscultation phenomena, that we are currently developing may be useful for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes and could be tested shortly in upcoming high-altitude climbs by the members of this group.

Altered desmosomal proteins in granulomatous myocarditis and potential pathogenic links to arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy.

BACKGROUND Immunoreactive signal for the desmosomal protein plakoglobin (γ-catenin) is reduced at cardiac intercalated disks in patients with arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy (ARVC), a highly arrhythmogenic condition caused by mutations in genes encoding desmosomal proteins. Previously, we observed a false-positive case in which plakoglobin signal was reduced in a patient initial...

A unique association of arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia and acute myocarditis, as assessed by cardiac MRI: a case report

BACKGROUND Arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia (ARVD), is a genetic disorder of the heart, which mainly involves the right ventricle. It is characterized by hypokinetic areas at the free wall of the right ventricle (RV) or both ventricles, where myocardium is replaced by fibrous or fatty tissue. ARVD is an important cause of ventricular arrhythmias in children and young adults. Although ...

[Prevailing right ventricular myocardiopathy for previous myocarditis or arrhythmogenic dysplasia?].

A clinical case of a 10-year-old male patient is reported. His dilated and prevailing right ventricular myocardiopathy shows diagnostic difficulties between previous myocarditis etiology and arrhythmogenic dysplasia. As the elements are not pathognomonic of one or other cause, the increase of cardiac enzymes in subacute stage maybe tends to the supposition of previous myocarditis. Hence, the qu...

Left-Dominant Arrhythmogenic Cardiomyopathy

Background In the absence of coronary disease and left ventricular (LV) systolic dysfunction, lateral T-wave inversion and arrhythmia of LV origin are often considered benign. Similarly, chest pain with enzyme release might be attributed to viral myocarditis. We hypothesized that these abnormalities might be manifestations of the “left-dominant” subtype of arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardi...

Perioperative management of severe head injury in a patient with arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia.

ARRHYTHMOGENIC right ventricular dysplasia (ARVD) is a recently described form of cardiomyopathy characterized by the occurrence of ventricular tachycardia of right ventricular origin. ARVD is characterized by fibrofatty replacement of the right myocardium, linked in part to both apoptotic cell death and patchy myocarditis. ARVD is an important cause of sudden arrhythmic death in young patients...

Arrhythmogenic Ventricular Dysplasia/Cardiomyopathy: Insights from the Rationale of Disease Nomenclature and Clinical Perspectives

“Arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia” (ARVD), a heart muscle disorder characterized by the presence of fibro-fatty tissue and ventricular electrical vulnerability related to sudden death, was first described in 1977 by a French team. Since then, other terms such as “arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy” (ARVC), “arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy” (AC), “left-dominant arrhythmogeni...
